Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, brown sugar, and melted butter until well combined. Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  • Spread the pecan halves evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Be sure to distribute them in a single layer.
  • Pour the egg and brown sugar mixture over the pecans, ensuring that the nuts are fully covered.
  • Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the top of the filling. Do not stir or mix the cake mix into the filling.
  • Melt the remaining butter and drizzle it over the top of the cake mix, covering as much of the surface as possible.
  • Bake the pecan pie dump cake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is set.
  • Allow the cake to cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.
